White Castle is a highly acclaimed family run winery based in Abergevenny, Wales. Their picturesque vineyard is based around the foothills of an old castle established in the middle-ages which is the namesake for its vineyard. The winemakers originally sought to make a white wine out of Phoenix grapes only, but they discovered that there were other white wine grapes in their vineyard that acted as superb blending partners. In this vintage, the wine is a blend of a larger proportion of Phoenix and a touch of Seyval Blanc.  As the wine is a blend, the winery simply named it "Gwin Gwyn" (White Wine in welsh) as tribute to the wine's welsh provenience. Expect a crisp refreshing wine teaming with ripe citrus notes with a pleasant elderflower note on the finish. Perfect for sipping alfresco at a picnic or when paired with seafood dishes like mussels, oysters, or prawns.
